PUBLIC SAFETY + TRANSPORTATION CENTER BLACKHAWK ESSENTIAL TRAINING FOR SAFER COMMUNITIES TECHNICAL COLLEGE Blackhawk Technical College has placed a referendum question on the Nov. 3, 2020 ballot to fund the construction of a comprehensive training facility on their campus in Janesville. The proposed Public Safety + Transportation Center will serve students in BTC's public safety and transportation programs and provide a local resource for ongoing training for the region's first-responders and transportation workers. ECONOMIC + WORKFORCE IMPACT From 2021 to 2030, the present value of short-run and long-run impacts created by the PSTC will provide a total economic impact on the Blackhawk Technical College District economy of '83.3 million in added income. Beyond the timeframe of this analysis, the total annual impact from the PSTC will be at least *15.4 million in added income. This is the equivalent to supporting 234 jobs every year.
