In Lake Mills, it crosses Rock Lake on one of its many old railroad bridges. The trail was opened in 1986 and follows the old Chicago and North Western Railway Madison-Milwaukee mainline. Deerfield! The name refers to a drumlin, a glacial landform very common in the area Where recreational opportunities are abundant. The Glacial Drumlin State Trail, which passes through the heart of the village, offers 52 miles of hiking. biking, roller blading, jogging, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobile trails.
